Soprano Eleanor Sourbutts is well known for her exquisite musicality and silvery tone as well as her exuberant and kindhearted nature, which makes her a joy to work with.

Eleanor has worked throughout Europe as a soloist. Her repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, Mozart’s Mass in C minor, Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi and Vivaldi’s Gloria. Her operatic roles include Pamina and Erste Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, La Fèe in Massenet’s Cendrillon, Adele in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and Josephine in HMS Pinafore by Gilbert and Sullivan. She has collaborated with organisations like Northern Opera Group, Young Opera Venture, OpernFest Berlin, The Fat Lady opera group, Grachten Festival, Leeds Baroque, Skipton Camerata and has performed as a soloist in Italy, Germany, The Netherlands, France and The UK.

Eleanor is an alumna of the University of Leeds, ArtEZ Conservatorium and the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella di Napoli, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was also a member of the Opera Studio Leipzig, Performing Opera Summer School Amsterdam and will be joining Berlin Opera Academy this summer.

Her choral experience also expands over two decades and includes several professional recordings. Some examples being the album La musica dalla riforma protestante with Mysterium Vocis choir (Naples, IT) and appearing on the soundtrack of the 2018 film Mary Magdalene with the same
association.

Eleanor has been recognised by international competitions such as Concurso Internacional de
Ópera y Zarzuela
(Opus Lirica), Concorso Lirico Ottavio Ziino (Rome,IT), Concurso de Canto Josep Palet and the Concurs Internacional de Cant Tenor Viñas.
